What is a Head Spa?

A healthy scalp grows glowing hair

A head spa is far more than a hair wash. It keeps the scalp in healthy condition — the foundation from which strong, glowing hair grows.

A dry head spa: a scalp massage performed without water, the guest lying back with a towel across the shoulders

Dry Head Spa

Performed without water, aimed purely at relaxation. Pleasant — but the scalp itself is left untreated.

A wet head spa at Dreamin’: warm water and steam rising as the scalp is cleansed at the basin

Wet Head Spa

Deep relaxation and true treatment care: cleansing away build-up, then delivering nutrients and moisture to hair and scalp.

Dreamin’ is a wet-type head spa.

Inside the Dreamin’ Method

Why our wet head spa is different

A wet head spa is more than a relaxing shampoo. It combines scalp cleansing, carefully selected products, and techniques designed to support the long-term health of both the scalp and hair.

At Dreamin’, every treatment is performed personally by Takashi, who has over 20 years of experience as a hairdresser and holds an Australian hairdressing qualification. Having worked extensively with Japanese haircare techniques and scalp-focused treatments, he believes every scalp is unique and should never be treated with a one-size-fits-all approach.

The Dreamin’ Method brings together techniques inspired by the Japanese beauty industry and the traditions of Indian head massage. Every treatment begins with a scalp assessment, allowing products and techniques to be selected according to your scalp’s condition on the day.

Rather than following a fixed routine, every visit is tailored to your individual needs and carried out in a calm, private space where your comfort and long-term hair health remain the priority.

Our philosophy is simple: to help you enjoy not only a relaxing experience today, but healthier scalp and more beautiful hair for the next 10 years.

Voice

What our guests say

Rated 5.0 on Google by more than 140 guests — and after every session, the same few things come back. Not the décor. Not the products. These.

They fall asleep

Guests arrive intending to relax and instead go properly under. The shampoo stand is completely flat, imported from Japan, so the neck never braces against a basin rim — and once the bracing stops, ninety minutes of warm water does the rest.

They leave knowing something

The scalp diagnosis is the part nobody expects. Whether the scalp is oily or dehydrated, tight or inflamed, whether the shampoo they have been loyal to for years is working against them — most guests have simply never been told.

Nothing is rushed

There are no shortened express menus here. The shortest head spa is ninety minutes, one guest is in the room, and nobody is watching the clock or turning the space over for the next booking.

The blow-dry surprises them

People expect to leave a head spa damp. They do not expect the finish to be done with the same care as the treatment — and for a lot of guests, that is the moment the whole ninety minutes suddenly makes sense.

They stop going elsewhere

More than a few guests have quietly told us that ordinary salons no longer interest them. We take that as the compliment it is, and as the reason to keep the room to one person at a time.

FAQ

Before your first visit

The questions we are asked most often. If yours isn't here, call us — we are glad to talk it through before you book.

What is a head spa, and how is it different from a hair wash?

A wash cleans the hair. A head spa treats the scalp — the skin your hair grows from. We begin with a consultation and scalp diagnosis, lift away the build-up that ordinary shampooing leaves behind, then deliver nutrients and moisture back into the scalp and hair through layered massage.

Dreamin' is a wet-type head spa: warm water throughout, and every session ends with a full blow-dry — you leave styled, never damp.

How long does it take, and what happens on the day?

Between 90 and 135 minutes, depending on the treatment. There are no shortened “express” menus — the ritual sets the pace, not the clock.

Your visit runs in four parts: consultation and scalp diagnosis, the head spa itself, a full blow-dry, then aftercare advice based on what we found on the day. Arrive five minutes early; there is nothing to bring and nothing to prepare.

Is a head spa right for me?

It suits most people, and it is especially worth it if you have an itchy or flaky scalp, roots that turn oily quickly, hair that has lost volume or shine, or a head that simply carries a lot of tension.

Because no two scalps are alike, products and methods are chosen for your condition on the day — never from a fixed routine. If you have a particular concern, mention it when you book and we will allow extra time in your consultation.

How often should I come?

Many guests return every four to six weeks, which keeps the scalp in condition between visits and pairs naturally with a cut. If you are working on a specific concern, a closer run of sessions at the start can make a visible difference sooner.

You will get an honest recommendation after your scalp diagnosis — along with the aftercare advice to hold the results at home.

Can I have a cut in the same appointment?

Yes — Head Spa & Cut is our signature service and the one most guests book. It combines the full head spa ritual with a precision cut and blow-dry finish in a single 120–135 minute visit.

Cuts are also available on their own, and a Deep Treatment can be added to any service.

Still unsure which treatment suits you? Send us a message and Takashi will talk you through it.
